Multidisciplinary Artist
Inherent to my practice as an artist is exploring processes of making and production, this leads to my work taking many forms and being expressed in a variety of mediums. Through a multidisciplinary approach i look to examine the complex issues we as a society face from climate destruction to social inequality and war.
Through the physical action of making I seek a personal antidote to counteract the sense of hopelessness and anger i feel, aware that there is no simple, singular, curative solution.
My work has political undertones, with an interest in processes of mass production, labour and the innate contradictions we face in society as consumers. I build on the language of consumerism, and human desire to covet objects and things of beauty. I utilise this as my mechanism to guide the viewer to look beyond visual gratification and question destructive human actions, whilst respecting their perceptions and interpretations as visual readers.
